Navigating the Australian Maternal Health System

Navigating the Australian Maternal Health System is a free 3-hour information session for women from new and emerging communities. This is a new course currently being piloted in partnership with English Language Service Providers and Community Centres.

The course is delivered by a Birth for HumanKIND facilitator, with optional support from qualified interpreters available.

The session aims to provide women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds with the opportunity to:

  • Increase understanding of the Australian maternal health system
  • Find out where and how to access birth support
  • Learn about different birthing options
  • Find out about rights and responsibilities with regards to birth
  • Explore ways to support each other
